Product Description

Universal Flange Adaptor Description

The Universal Flange Adaptor is made with a durable and strong Ductile Iron (DI) body. It is specifically designed to connect pipes that have different flange drilling patterns. The flange drilling on the adaptor adheres to the EN1092-2 standard, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of piping systems. It also has a pressure rating of PN10/16.

To ensure a reliable and leak-proof connection, the flange adaptor is equipped with an EPDM gasket. This gasket provides excellent sealing capabilities. The adaptor can be securely fastened to the pipe using high-quality carbon steel grade 4.8 bolts and nuts. The 4.8 grade indicates the strength and tensile capabilities of the bolts and nuts, ensuring a secure and long-lasting connection.

For protection against corrosion and external elements, the flange adaptor is coated with a fusion-bonded epoxy coating. This coating has a minimum thickness of 250 microns, offering robust protection and extending the lifespan of the adaptor.

Benefits of Universal Flange Adaptor

There are several benefits to using flange adaptor pipe fittings, including:

     •  Versatility - A universal flange adaptor allows you to connect pipes and valves with different flange sizes or standards. This provides flexibility in piping design and allows you to use components from various manufacturers.

     •  Ease of Maintenance - Having a universal adaptor eliminates the need to stock multiple adaptor sizes. Maintenance and repairs are simpler with just one style of adaptor.

     •  Space Savings - A single universal adaptor takes up less space than storing sets of different sized adaptors. This can help optimize tight spaces in pipe networks.

     •  Cost Savings - Purchasing one style of adaptor is more economical than buying many specialty adaptors. Installation is also faster with a universal part.

     •  Standardization - Universal flange adaptors can help standardize piping connections at a facility. This makes operations more efficient and organized with consistency.

     •  Accommodate Design Changes - A universal adaptor can accommodate piping reconfigurations down the road. If flange sizes need to change on the fly, the universal adaptor already fits.

     •  Easy to Find - Since universal adaptors are widely used, they are easy to find at supplier stores. Specialty adaptors may require special ordering.

Applications of Universal Flange Adaptor

Flange adaptor pipe fittings are used in a wide variety of applications, including:

      •  Connecting pipes and valves with mismatched flange sizes - The adaptor joins two flanges of different standards or diameters. This allows the use of mixed fittings.

      •  Retrofitting piping systems - When modifying or upgrading older piping, a universal adaptor allows new pipes and valves to be connected to existing flange sizes.

      •  Connecting equipment from different manufacturers - Pumps, strainers, meters, etc. often have unique flange sizes. Adaptors join them together into the piping system.

      •  Creating temporaryconnections - For bypass lines, temporary hookups, or equipment testing, a universal adaptor enables flexible temporary piping setups.

      •  Emergency repairs - Quick repairs can be made without exactly matching flange sizes by using a universal adaptor to join piping.

      •  Connecting piping of different materials - Adaptors can join dissimilar piping materials like PVC to metal pipes when appropriate gaskets are used.

      •  Linking tanks and vessels to piping - Vessel nozzles and manways often have unique flange sizes that adaptors can match to other pipeline sizes.

      •  Joining pipes in restricted spaces - The compact size of adaptors allow connections in tight spots where large flanges won't fit.

      •  Creating prototypes and custom systems - For R&D projects and one-off systems, adaptors allow unique or mixed components to be connected.

How to Choose the Right Universal Flange Adaptor

1. Determine the Specific Flange Types You Need to Connect:

       •  Identify the flange standards: Check for markings or documentation to determine the flange standards of the pipes or components you're connecting (e.g., ANSI, DIN, JIS).

       •  Note bolt hole patterns and flange facings: Pay attention to the number and arrangement of bolt holes, as well as the type of flange facing (e.g., raised face, flat face, ring joint).

2. Consider the Adaptor's Material and Pressure Rating:

       •  Material compatibility: Select an adaptor made of a material compatible with the fluids or gases in your system to prevent corrosion or deterioration.

       •  Pressure rating alignment: Ensure the adaptor's pressure rating matches or exceeds the maximum pressure in your system to avoid leaks or ruptures.

3. Verify Size and Dimensional Compatibility:

       •  Check nominal pipe size (NPS) or diameter (DN): Ensure the adaptor's size matches the pipes or components you're connecting.

       •  Confirm bolt hole circle diameter (BCD): Verify that the adaptor's BCD aligns with the bolt holes on the existing flanges.

4. Evaluate Additional Considerations:

       •  Bolting requirements: Check if the adaptor includes bolts or if you need to purchase them separately.

       •  Gasket compatibility: Select a gasket material that's compatible with the fluids or gases in your system and the adaptor's flange facing.

       •  Installation ease: Consider the ease of installation, especially in tight spaces or with limited access.

       •  Environmental factors: If the adaptor will be exposed to harsh environments, choose one made of a durable material like stainless steel.

5. Consult Manufacturer or Supplier:

       •  Seek guidance: If you're unsure about any specifications, consult with the manufacturer or supplier of the adaptor or a qualified piping professional for expert advice.
