Ductile Iron Butterfly Valve

Ductile Iron Butterfly Valves have a higher ductility rating and are more compliant with swing. While ductile iron has a good damping rating, it is not highly recommended for loud or heavy machinery like cast iron, as it is also not soundproof and is not durable in the event of vibration. 
Ductile iron butterfly valves have a similar chemical composition to gray cast iron, but special treatment during casting changes the metallurgical structure, resulting in the same mechanical properties as carbon steel, but still maintains superior corrosion resistance in certain environments. This metallurgical change makes it ideal for butterfly valve bodies.
In order to have higher mechanical shock resistance at high or low temperature, and better tensile strength and elongation characteristics than ordinary gray iron butterfly valve.
